In the summer of 2020, Lauryn and Evan Betterton opened their backyard to friends, neighbors and their dogs. It turned into a makeshift dog park, and a pretty great hangout.
That left a question: why didn't Columbus have a place where dogs and people could play together? So they built one, at the old Double Happy Ice Cream shop on Brown Road, and named it after their dog, Bumble.
Everything we didn't love about public dog parks became a reason for this one.
The humans who run the place, the dog it's named for, and the Barktenders who keep play groups happy.

Bumble's Bees is our native pollinator garden: 17 Ohio plants along the fences that feed bees, butterflies and birds from March into October.
