Something's always happening in the Backyard.

Bingo, Fetch Club, books, yoga and the occasional pop-up. Most events are free for humans; dogs just need a day pass or membership.

Three new event formats

Each one leans on something only Bumble's has: Columbus taps, the soft serve window, and a pollinator garden. Prices and capacities in brackets are ours to decide.

Format A · Weekly

Yappy Hour

After work, after walkies: a Columbus brewery takes over the taps every Thursday.

WhenThursdays, 5–7 pm
PriceFree with a dog pass
Members[$1 off] guest-brewery pours
CapacityRegular park capacity
Run of show
  1. 5:00Guest brewery's 2 taps go live (Thunderwing, Wolf's Ridge, Hoof Hearted…)
  2. 5:30Brewer says hi, pours samples for members
  3. 6:15Fetch Club crossover on the turf
  4. 7:00Last call on the guest taps
Why it fits: the draft list is already almost all Columbus breweries, and Thursday is the quietest day.
We’d need: a rotation of [4–6] breweries, a tap-takeover sign, one Instagram post a week.
Open questions
  • Does it clash with Fetch Club, or feed it?
  • Do breweries bring swag or a pup-friendly treat?
Format B · Weekend

Swirl Social

A nod to the old Double Happy soft serve stand: shake flights for people, pup cups for dogs, and a calm hour for the small and shy.

When[1st Saturday], 1–3 pm
Price[$12] shake flight + pass
Shy-dog hour1–2 pm, [under 25 lb]
Capacity[20] dogs in the first hour
Run of show
  1. 1:00Small and shy dogs get the turf; Barktenders keep it mellow
  2. 1:30Mini shake flight: Brown and Hopkins, Elvis Special, The Pink-Nosed
  3. 2:00Everyone in; free pup cups
  4. 2:30Vote on next month's shake of the week
Why it fits: shakes and soft serve are a whole menu section, and they're already Fri–Sun.
We’d need: small flight cups, a sign-up cap for the shy-dog hour, a ticket in Gingr.
Open questions
  • Size cutoff, or self-select “shy” regardless of size?
  • Would winter months switch to hot cider and Chaider?
Format C · Monthly

Bloom & Brew

A 20-minute walk through Bumble's Bees with a garden guide, then a drink on the patio.

When[Last Sunday], 11 am, Apr–Oct
Price[$10] incl. one drink
Group size[12] people per walk
DogsWelcome, on leash in the beds
Run of show
  1. 11:00Meet at the North fence bed

  3. 11:20Take-home pollinator fact card (one plant per month)
  4. 11:25Drink on the patio; “In bloom” special
